Ingredients:

  • 1 cheap can of refrigerated biscuits (8 biscuits)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • Small amount of vegetable oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Glaze:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine the powdered sugar and milk. Mix until you have a smooth glaze. If the glaze is too thick, you can add a little more milk to reach your desired consistency. Set the glaze aside.
  2. Heat the Oil:
    • In a deep frying pan or a medium-sized pot, pour enough vegetable oil to submerge the biscuits completely. Heat the oil over medium heat until it reaches 350-375ยฐF (175-190ยฐC). You can test if the oil is ready by dropping a small piece of biscuit dough into the oil; it should sizzle and bubble immediately.
  3. Prepare the Biscuits:
    • While the oil is heating, open the can of biscuits and separate them. Use your thumb or a small tool to gently make a hole in the center of each biscuit. This will create a donut shape.
  4. Fry the Biscuit Donuts:
    • Carefully place a few biscuit donuts at a time into the hot oil using a slotted spoon or tongs. Make sure not to overcrowd the pan, as this can lower the oil temperature and make the donuts greasy.
    • Fry the donuts for about 1-2 minutes on each side or until they turn golden brown and puffy. Use the slotted spoon or tongs to flip them as needed.
  5. Drain and Cool:
    • Once the biscuit donuts are golden brown, use the slotted spoon to remove them from the hot oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels. This will help absorb any excess oil.
  6. Glaze the Donuts:
    • While the donuts are still warm, dip each one into the prepared powdered sugar glaze. You can fully coat the donuts or just drizzle the glaze over the top for a lighter coating. Place the glazed donuts on a wire rack or a clean plate to allow any excess glaze to drip off.
  7. Enjoy:
    • Your quick and easy fried biscuit donuts are ready to be enjoyed! They are best served warm, so dig in while they’re still fresh. These donuts pair perfectly with a big glass of cold milk for breakfast or a late-night snack.
