chop up whatever deli meat youโ€™d like I used pepperoni, salami, ham & provolone cheese, shredded some lettuce, chopped a tomato & red onion, pickles, scoop of crushed red hot pepper relish, banana peppers, olives, red wine vinegar, mayonnaise & Italian seasoning! Use whatever for dipping I like cut up pita bread and French bread!
Id recommend taking the inside out of the tomatoโ€™s and for the pickles using the whole minis instead of spears cause it would make it watery

Italian Sub Dip Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 pound pepperoni, sliced
  • 1/2 pound salami, sliced
  • 1/2 pound ham, sliced
  • 1/2 pound provolone cheese, sliced
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 large tomato, diced (remove seeds to reduce moisture)
  • 1/2 red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup pickles, sliced (use mini pickles to avoid excess moisture)
  • 1/4 cup crushed red hot pepper relish
  • 1/4 cup banana peppers, sliced
  • 1/4 cup olives, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Pita bread and French bread for dipping

Instructions:

  1. Prep the Ingredients:
    • Slice and chop the deli meats (pepperoni, salami, ham) and provolone cheese into bite-sized pieces.
    • Shred the lettuce, dice the tomato (remove seeds), finely chop the red onion, and slice the pickles into rounds.
    • Slice the olives and banana peppers.
  2. Assemble the Dip:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped deli meats, provolone cheese, shredded lettuce, diced tomato, chopped red onion, pickles, crushed red hot pepper relish, banana peppers, and olives.
  3. Prepare the Sauce:
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the red wine vinegar, mayonnaise, and Italian seasoning until well combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Combine and Chill:
    • Pour the sauce over the assembled ingredients in the large mixing bowl. Gently toss everything together until well coated in the sauce.
    • Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Serve:
    • Before serving, give the dip a final gentle stir. Adjust seasoning if needed.
