Cheesy Potato Delight

Ingredients:

  • 3-4 medium-sized russet potatoes, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite melting cheese)
  • 3-4 strips of bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • Sour cream for dipping

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC).
  2. Prepare the Potatoes: Wash the russet potatoes thoroughly and slice them into rounds about ยผ inch thick. Place the potato slices in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Season the Potatoes: Drizzle the melted butter over the potato slices. Season generously with salt and pepper. Toss the potatoes to ensure they’re evenly coated with butter and seasoning.
  4. Bake the Potatoes: Arrange the seasoned potato slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil, ensuring they’re in a single layer. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 30 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and slightly golden.
  5. Add Toppings: After 30 minutes, remove the baking sheet from the oven. Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the partially baked potato slices. Next, scatter the crumbled bacon and sliced green onions over the cheese.
  6. Final Bake: Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the toppings are golden brown.
  7. Serve: Once fully baked, remove the Cheesy Potato Delight from the oven. Allow it to cool slightly before serving. Serve with a dollop of sour cream on the side for dipping.
