Mac n cheese

 

Homemade Mac n cheese!
$1 for the pasta
$4 for the heavy cream
$5 worth of my favorite cheeses
$1 worth of cream cheese
Makes 10+servings and it’s bombΒ πŸ’£πŸŽ…β€οΈ
Recipe:
Boiled the pasta. Strained it.
Then, I made the rue, added the entire quart of heavy cream, added all my shredded cheese and cream cheese. Added Cajun seasoning and pepper, garlic salt.

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb pasta ($1)
  • 1 quart (4 cups) heavy cream ($4)
  • $5 worth of your favorite cheeses (e.g., cheddar, mozzarella, gouda)
  • 1 package cream cheese ($1)
  • Cajun seasoning, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Garlic salt, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Boil the Pasta:
    • Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente.
    • Drain the pasta and set it aside.
  2. Prepare the Cheese Mixture:
    • In a large saucepan over medium heat, start the roux by melting 2 tablespoons of butter.
    • Once the butter is melted, add 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour and whisk continuously until it forms a smooth paste.
    • Gradually pour in the entire quart of heavy cream, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
    • Add the cream cheese, allowing it to melt into the sauce.
  3. Add the Cheeses:
    • Gradually add your favorite shredded cheeses to the sauce, stirring continuously until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth.
    • You can use a combination of different cheeses for a rich and flavorful sauce.
  4. Seasoning:
    • Add Cajun seasoning, pepper, and garlic salt to taste. Adjust the seasoning according to your preference.
    • Keep in mind that the Cajun seasoning will add a nice kick to the mac and cheese.
  5. Combine Pasta and Sauce:
    • Mix the cooked pasta into the cheese sauce, ensuring that each piece is well coated.
    • Allow the mac and cheese to simmer for a few minutes to let the flavors meld.
  6. Serve:
    • Once the mac and cheese has reached your desired consistency, serve it hot.
  7. Garnish (Optional):
    • Garnish with additional shredded cheese, chopped parsley, or breadcrumbs for added texture and flavor.
  8. Enjoy:
