Wintertime soup

An easy and simple soup that’s perfect for wintertime. in winter we all prefer warm recipes, especially if you are a mom, this soup recipe is one of my favorites winter recipes, it’s budget friendly and easy to make, easy to eat. your can store it and reheat it for 2 weeks.

This soup can be used in a crockpot or the stove top.

Slow Cooker Tomato Tortellini Soup

Ingredients:

-1lb of Italian sausage (I use the mild)
-1 32oz container of chicken broth
-1 28 oz can of petite diced tomatoes
-2 regular cans of tomato soup (like Cambells)
-2 8oz pkgs cream cheese spread with onions and chives
-1 pkg 18oz frozen cheese tortellini

Directions:

1.Cook your sausage first in a skillet until done then add to your crockpot.

2. Add the broth and tomatoes and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours. Toward the end add the cream cheese and the tortellini and cook an additional 15 to 30 minutes or until tortellini is done.

If doing this on the stove, just shorter cooking time, about an hour or so before adding the cream cheese and tortellini.
* I have used breakfast sausage before when I thought I had the Italian, still worked out good.
