Taco Pasta Bake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 1/2 to 1 whole onion, diced
  • 12 oz (340g) pasta (any type)
  • 1 packet of taco seasoning
  • 1 jar (about 16 oz) of your favorite salsa
  • Cheese (cheddar or your choice), to taste
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional toppings: chopped tomatoes, sliced jalapeños, chopped cilantro

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the diced onion until translucent.
  4. Add the ground beef to the skillet with the onion. Cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until the beef is browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
  5. Stir in the taco seasoning and salsa into the skillet with the cooked beef. Let it simmer for a few minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
  6. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the meat mixture. Stir until well combined.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a 9×13-inch (23x33cm) casserole dish.
  8. Sprinkle a generous amount of cheese over the top of the pasta mixture.
  9. Place the casserole dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
  11. Serve hot, garnished with optional toppings such as chopped tomatoes, sliced jalapeños, or chopped cilantro.
