Grandma’s Birthday SOS (Sausage-on-steroids) Surprise


  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: pinch of cayenne pepper for a kick
  • Instant mashed potatoes or biscuits (for serving)


  1. Brown the ground beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until it’s browned and crumbled. Drain any excess fat if necessary.
  2. Make the gravy: Sprinkle the flour over the browned beef in the skillet. Stir continuously to incorporate the flour into the meat, forming a roux. Cook for a couple of minutes until the flour is lightly toasted.
