I finally tried the copy cat chicken minis from Chick-fil-a. They are amazing! I had everything on hand.
Chicken nuggets: from Sam’s $13.98 for 3 lbs worth (only used 16 of them)
Sister shubert rolls: $3.48 (from Walmart)
Honey- 2 Tbsp
Butter- 4 Tbsp
This meal was definitely under $10 for my son & I.
Recipe: preheat oven to 300. Place rolls in with foil on for 15 mins. After 15 mins, put 16 chicken nuggets on a baking sheet into the oven with rolls left in still. After 7 mins, flip chicken. Continue baking. When times up, take everything out. Flip rolls on plate & cut through, putting the bottoms in the pan. Place chicken in each one with the top rolls put on. Then put your honey & butter mixture on top
Copycat Chicken Minis Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 16 chicken nuggets
- 1 package of Sister Schubert rolls (or any similar dinner rolls)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 4 tablespoons butter
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Warm the Rolls: Place the Sister Schubert rolls on a baking sheet lined with foil. Bake with the foil covering for 15 minutes.
- Prepare the Chicken Nuggets: While the rolls are warming, place the 16 chicken nuggets on a separate baking sheet. After 7 minutes, flip the chicken nuggets to ensure even cooking.
- Continue Baking: Allow both the rolls and chicken nuggets to continue baking until the designated time is up.
- Assemble the Chicken Minis: Once everything is baked, take the rolls out and cut them through the middle, placing the bottoms in a separate pan.
- Fill with Chicken: Put one chicken nugget in each roll, using the bottom part of the roll.
- Top with Rolls: Place the top parts of the rolls on each nugget, creating mini chicken sandwiches.
- Honey and Butter Glaze: In a small saucepan, melt 4 tablespoons of butter and mix it with 2 tablespoons of honey. Stir well until it forms a glaze.
- Drizzle the Glaze: Drizzle the honey and butter glaze over the top of each mini chicken sandwich.
- Serve and Enjoy: Serve these delicious Copycat Chicken Minis warm and enjoy the tasty combination of crispy chicken, soft rolls, and sweet honey-butter glaze.
