Cheesy Turkey Hash Brown Casserole

  • 1/2 lb ground turkey, cooked and seasoned with your favorite taco seasoning
  • 1 bag (about 30 oz) frozen shredded hash browns
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 can (10.75 oz) cheddar cheese soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (plus extra for topping)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: chopped green onions, diced tomatoes, sour cream

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare the Turkey: Cook and season the ground turkey with the taco seasoning according to the packet instructions. Set aside.
  3. Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the frozen shredded hash browns, cooked seasoned turkey, cheddar cheese soup, and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  4. Season to Taste: Add salt and pepper to taste. Keep in mind that the taco seasoning already adds some flavor, so adjust according to your preference.
  5. Transfer to Casserole Dish: Grease a baking dish and transfer the hash brown mixture into it, spreading it evenly.
  6. Top with Cheese: Sprinkle additional shredded cheese on top of the casserole for an extra cheesy layer.
  7. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is heated through.
  8. Serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Optionally, garnish with chopped green onions, diced tomatoes, or a dollop of sour cream.
  9. Enjoy: Serve this delicious cheesy turkey hash brown casserole as a satisfying main dish for brunch, lunch, or dinner. Enjoy the cheesy goodness!
