Crispy Sausage and Ranch Green Beans

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb link sausage (Chapel Hill or Slovacek’s recommended)
  • 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed and halved
  • 1-2 tablespoons ranch seasoning (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Sausage: Slice the link sausage into rounds, about 1/4 inch thick. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the sliced sausage. Cook until crispy, stirring occasionally to ensure even browning. Once crispy, transfer the cooked sausage to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess grease.
  2. Cook the Green Beans: While the sausage is cooking, prepare the green beans. Rinse them thoroughly and trim the ends. If using fresh green beans, blanch them in boiling water for about 2-3 minutes, then transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Drain well. If using canned green beans, drain them completely.
  3. Combine Ingredients: In the same skillet used for the sausage, add the green beans. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning over the green beans according to your taste preferences. Add the butter to the skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the butter is melted and the green beans are warmed through.
  4. Final Assembly: Once the green beans are cooked to your liking, return the crispy sausage to the skillet. Stir to combine all the ingredients. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if necessary.
  5. Serve: Transfer the Crispy Sausage and Ranch Green Beans to a serving dish and enjoy immediately as a snack or meal.
  6. Storage: If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They can be reheated in the microwave or on the stove for a quick and easy meal later on.
