Pepperoni & Cheese Bagel Melts

Ingredients:

  • 4 plain bagels, sliced in half
  • 8 slices of provolone or American cheese (or a mix of both)
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices
  • Cooking spray or melted butter for brushing

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).
  2. Lay the bagel halves on a baking sheet, cut side up.
  3. Place one or two slices of provolone or American cheese on each bagel half, depending on your preference for cheesiness.
  4. Distribute the pepperoni slices evenly over the cheese on each bagel half.
  5. Top each bagel half with another slice of cheese to create a cheesy “sandwich.”
  6. Lightly brush the tops of the bagels with cooking spray or melted butter. This will help them achieve a golden and toasty finish.
  7. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges of the bagels are golden brown.
  8. Keep an eye on them to prevent over-browning, as oven temperatures can vary.
  9. Once done, remove the bagel melts from the oven and let them cool for a couple of minutes before serving.
  10. Optional: You can customize these melts by adding your favorite toppings, such as sliced olives, diced tomatoes, or a sprinkle of dried oregano for extra flavor.
