Dollar Tree Dinner

Dollar Tree Dinner! Sloppy Joe Casserole. Bought everything from Dollar Tree, except for the cheese which I had leftovers. Spent maybe $7. Cook ground beef, boil pasta, add cans of sloppy joe sauce to the beef, add cooked noodles to a casserole dish, mix in beef mixture, add whatever cheese you like on top, pop into a 350 degree oven until heated through and cheese is melted. Easy, quick, cheap, and makes a lot of food!

Dollar Tree Sloppy Joe Casserole:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound pasta (elbow macaroni or any small pasta shape)
  • 2 cans of Sloppy Joe sauce (purchased from Dollar Tree)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (leftovers or any cheese of your choice)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: sliced green onions or chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned and cooked through. Break it up with a spoon as it cooks. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Boil the Pasta: While the beef is cooking, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  4. Combine Beef and Sloppy Joe Sauce: Drain any excess fat from the cooked beef. Add the cans of Sloppy Joe sauce to the skillet with the cooked beef. Stir well to combine. Let it simmer for a few minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  5. Assemble the Casserole: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta and the Sloppy Joe mixture. Mix until the pasta is evenly coated with the sauce.
  6. Transfer to Casserole Dish: Grease a casserole dish with non-stick spray. Transfer the pasta and beef mixture into the casserole dish, spreading it out evenly.
  7. Add Cheese: Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the top of the casserole.
  8. Bake in the Oven: Place the casserole dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the casserole is heated through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Serve: Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with sliced green onions or chopped parsley if desired. Serve hot and enjoy your budget-friendly Dollar Tree Sloppy Joe Casserole!
