Creamy Sausage Cheese Bites
Ingredients:
- 1 lb hot sausage, uncooked
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 1/4 cups Bisquick
- 4 oz cheddar cheese, shredded
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the hot sausage, softened cream cheese, Bisquick, and shredded cheddar cheese.
- Using a KitchenAid mixer with the dough hook attachment or your hands, mix the ingredients until well combined. The dough should come together easily.
- Take small portions of the mixture and roll them into 1-inch balls. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving some space between each.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the sausage balls are golden brown and cooked through.
- If you prefer a crispier texture, you can broil them for an additional 1-2 minutes at the end of the baking time.
- Once done, remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
- These creamy sausage cheese bites can be enjoyed on their own or served with your favorite dipping sauce.
Optional:
- For added flavor, you can incorporate herbs and spices such as garlic powder, onion powder, or dried herbs into the mixture.
- Experiment with different types of cheese to create a unique flavor profile.
- Serve with a side of marinara sauce, ranch dressing, or any other dipping sauce of your choice.
Note: If you want to freeze the sausage balls for later use, place them on a baking sheet and freeze until solid. Once frozen, transfer them to a freezer bag. When ready to bake, you can cook them directly from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the baking time.
