Creamy Sausage Cheese Bites

Creamy Sausage Cheese Bites

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb hot sausage, uncooked
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/4 cups Bisquick
  • 4 oz cheddar cheese, shredded

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the hot sausage, softened cream cheese, Bisquick, and shredded cheddar cheese.
  3. Using a KitchenAid mixer with the dough hook attachment or your hands, mix the ingredients until well combined. The dough should come together easily.
  4. Take small portions of the mixture and roll them into 1-inch balls. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving some space between each.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the sausage balls are golden brown and cooked through.
  6. If you prefer a crispier texture, you can broil them for an additional 1-2 minutes at the end of the baking time.
  7. Once done, remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
  8. These creamy sausage cheese bites can be enjoyed on their own or served with your favorite dipping sauce.

Optional:

  • For added flavor, you can incorporate herbs and spices such as garlic powder, onion powder, or dried herbs into the mixture.
  • Experiment with different types of cheese to create a unique flavor profile.
  • Serve with a side of marinara sauce, ranch dressing, or any other dipping sauce of your choice.

Note: If you want to freeze the sausage balls for later use, place them on a baking sheet and freeze until solid. Once frozen, transfer them to a freezer bag. When ready to bake, you can cook them directly from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the baking time.
