Ingredients:

  • 12 ounces egg noodles (whole wheat for extra fiber), cooked according to package directions
  • 4 cups shredded chicken
  • 2 cans cream of chicken soup
  • 16 ounce container sour cream-based French onion dip (e.g., Dean’s)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (e.g., cheddar)
  • French fried onions
  • 2 onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the thinly sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are caramelized and golden brown, about 20-25 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.
