Tuna Noodle Casserole…I meant to take a picture before digging in…this was made with ingredients I had on hand….
Ingredients:
1 package of egg noodles, 2 cans of tuna, 1 small can of peas and carrots, 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup, shredded cheese, and 1 1/2 can of milk.
Directions: prepare noodles as package says, while they’re cooking in a large bowl mix soup, milk, tuna (drained), and peas and carrots (drained) together…once noodles are done drain and put back in the pot..mix in the soup mixture..once it’s thoroughly mixed pour into a 9×13 baking dish…sprinkle shredded cheese on top and bake at 375 for about 20 mins.

Ingredients:

  • 1 package (about 12 ounces) of egg noodles
  • 2 cans (5 ounces each) of tuna, drained
  • 1 small can (8 ounces) of peas and carrots, drained
  • 2 cans (10.5 ounces each) of cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 1/2 cans (about 18 ounces) of milk (use the empty soup cans for measuring)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: crushed crackers or breadcrumbs for added crunch

Directions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or casserole dish.
  2. Cook the Egg Noodles: Follow the package instructions to cook the egg noodles until they are al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Creamy Tuna Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, drained tuna, and drained peas and carrots. Mix them together until well combined.
  4. Adjust the Consistency: Add milk to the mixture to reach your desired consistency. Start with one can of milk, stir, and gradually add more until you achieve the creamy texture you prefer. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Combine Noodles and Creamy Mixture: Return the drained egg noodles to the pot you used to cook them. Pour the creamy tuna mixture over the noodles and gently fold everything together until the noodles are evenly coated.
  6. Transfer to Baking Dish: Pour the noodle and tuna mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  7. Add Cheese Topping: Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the top of the casserole. If you like an extra crispy topping, you can also add crushed crackers or breadcrumbs at this stage.
  8. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 20-25 minutes or until the casserole is hot and bubbly, and the cheese is golden brown on top.
  9. Serve: Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your homemade Tuna Noodle Casserole!
  10. Optional Garnish: You can garnish individual servings with fresh herbs like parsley or a sprinkle of paprika for extra flavor and presentation.
