Meatball Bubble Up Casserole
Ingredients:
- 1 can (8-count) refrigerated biscuits
- 14 oz bag frozen Italian-style meatballs
- 2 cups favorite spaghetti sauce
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 1/2 – 2 cups shredded cheese (mozzarella or Italian blend)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Prepare the Biscuits: Slice each raw biscuit dough into 8 pieces. Set aside.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped biscuits, frozen meatballs, spaghetti sauce, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and grated Parmesan cheese. Stir until everything is well coated.
- Assemble in the Pan: Spread the mixture evenly into the greased baking pan.
- Top with Cheese: Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the top of the mixture. Add an extra sprinkle of Parmesan for more flavor.
- Bake Covered: Cover the pan with greased foil and bake for 30 minutes. This helps the biscuits cook and the flavors meld together.
- Uncover and Bake: After 30 minutes, remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes or until the casserole is bubbly, and the cheese is melted and golden brown.
- Garnish: Once out of the oven, sprinkle the top with fresh chopped parsley for a burst of color and freshness.
- Serve: Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving. Scoop out generous portions and enjoy the delightful combination of flavors.
