Bacon-Infused Green Beans with Glazed Carrots, Crispy Pork Chop, and Creamy Gravy

Ingredients:

  • 1 can green beans
  • 1 can carrots
  • 2 tablespoons bacon fat (divided)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar or honey
  • 1 large potato
  • 1 boneless pork chop
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg
  • Flour for dredging
  • Oil for frying
  • For Gravy:
    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 2 tablespoons flour
    • 1 cup milk

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Vegetables:
    • Drain the green beans and rinse them to remove the canning liquid.
    • Heat a small pot over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of bacon fat.
    • Add the green beans to the pot and sautΓ© them for a few minutes until heated through. Keep warm.
    • Drain the carrots and rinse them to remove the canning liquid.
    • In another small pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
    • Add the carrots to the pot along with the brown sugar or honey. Stir well to coat the carrots.
    • Let the carrots simmer for a few minutes until glazed and heated through. Keep warm.
  2. Prepare the Baked Potato:
    • Wash the potato thoroughly and prick it with a fork in several places.
    • Place the potato in the microwave and cook on high for 4-8 minutes, depending on its size, until tender. Rotate halfway through cooking if needed.
  3. Prepare the Pork Chop:
    • Trim any excess fat from the pork chop.
    • Cover the pork chop with plastic wrap and pound it out to a thin, even thickness.
    • Season both sides of the pork chop with salt and pepper.
    • In a shallow dish, beat the egg.
    • Place flour in another shallow dish.
