Creamy Broccoli Casserole


  • 1 (16 ounce) package frozen broccoli
  • 1 (6 ounce) can condensed cream of celery soup
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1⁄2 cup cheese crackers
  • 1-2 tablespoons instant minced onion or 1-2 tablespoons onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine


  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the frozen broccoli according to the package instructions and drain well.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the condensed cream of celery soup, mayonnaise, lightly beaten eggs, shredded cheddar cheese, and instant minced onion or onion powder. Stir until well combined.
  4. Add the drained broccoli to the mixture and stir until the broccoli is evenly coated.
  5. Pour the broccoli mixture into a greased 1-1/2 quart baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  6. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
  7. Crush the cheese crackers and mix them with the melted butter until well combined.
  8. Sprinkle the buttered cracker crumbs evenly over the top of the broccoli mixture in the baking dish.
  9. Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is bubbly around the edges.
  10. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
