Christmas Eve breakfast – French toast casserole.
12 slices of Texas toast bread
6 eggs
Two cups of milk
Splash of vanilla
1 Tablespoon cinnamon
Preheat oven to 375. Spray 9×13 with nonstick cooking spray. Slice bread into quarters and place into dish. Crack eggs into bowl and pour milk, vanilla, cinnamon and mix it. Pour that mixture over the bread and place in refrigerator for 30 minutes.
For the crumble topping,
2/3 cup flour
2/3 cup brown sugar
Cinnamon (as much as you want – we used a tablespoon)
One stick of butter melted
Crumble that together and pour it over the bread mixture. Bake at 375 for 45 minutes or until done.
We sprinkled it with powdered sugar and syrup. Huge hit and everyone loved it.
