Baked Bean Glazed Pork Chops
Ingredients:
- 4 bone-in pork chops
- 1 family-size can (28 oz) of brown sugar baked beans
- 1 can (8 oz) of mushroom pieces, drained
- 1/2 cup water
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: 1 tablespoon olive oil for searing
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- If desired, season the pork chops with salt and pepper. In a large oven-safe skillet or baking dish, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the pork chops for 2-3 minutes on each side until they develop a golden-brown crust. This step is optional but adds extra flavor to the chops.
- In a bowl, combine the brown sugar baked beans, drained mushroom pieces, and water. Mix well.
- Place the seared pork chops in the baking dish or skillet.
- Pour the bean and mushroom mixture over the pork chops, ensuring they are well-coated.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes or until the internal temperature of the pork reaches 145°F (63°C).
- Every 10 minutes or so, spoon the bean mixture over the chops to keep them moist and enhance the flavor.
- While the pork chops are baking, prepare corn on the cob as a delicious side dish.
- Once the pork chops are cooked through and tender, remove them from the oven.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired, and serve the baked bean glazed pork chops alongside the corn on the cob.
Enjoy this simple, budget-friendly, and flavorful meal that combines the savory goodness of pork chops with the sweet and rich taste of brown sugar baked beans!
