Cheesy Garlic Bread Sloppy Joes

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 to 6 pieces of garlic bread (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the Ground Beef: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until it’s no longer pink. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Add Vegetables and Sauce: Add diced onion and green bell pepper to the skillet with the cooked ground beef. Sauté until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes. Then, stir in the ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper. Let the mixture simmer for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Prepare the Garlic Bread: While the sloppy joe mixture is simmering, place the garlic bread pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  5. Assemble the Sloppy Joes: Spoon the sloppy joe mixture generously onto each piece of garlic bread.
  6. Add Cheese: Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top of each sloppy joe-covered garlic bread slice.
  7. Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the garlic bread is crispy around the edges.
  8. Serve: Once done, remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve hot and enjoy your cheesy garlic bread sloppy joes!

This recipe offers a delicious twist on classic sloppy joes by combining them with garlic bread and melted cheese, creating a mouthwatering dish that’s both easy to make and incredibly satisfying. Enjoy
