Bacon-Infused Green Beans with Glazed Carrots, Crispy Pork Chop, and Creamy Gravy
Ingredients:
- 1 can green beans
 
- 1 can carrots
 
- 2 tablespoons bacon fat (divided)
 
- 1 tablespoon butter
 
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar or honey
 
- 1 large potato
 
- 1 boneless pork chop
 
- Salt and pepper to taste
 
- 1 egg
 
- Flour for dredging
 
- Oil for frying
 
- For Gravy:
- 2 tablespoons butter
 
- 2 tablespoons flour
 
- 1 cup milk
 
 
Instructions:
- Prepare the Vegetables:
- Drain the green beans and rinse them to remove the canning liquid.
 
- Heat a small pot over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of bacon fat.
 
- Add the green beans to the pot and sauté them for a few minutes until heated through. Keep warm.
 
- Drain the carrots and rinse them to remove the canning liquid.
 
- In another small pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
 
- Add the carrots to the pot along with the brown sugar or honey. Stir well to coat the carrots.
 
- Let the carrots simmer for a few minutes until glazed and heated through. Keep warm.
 
 
- Prepare the Baked Potato:
- Wash the potato thoroughly and prick it with a fork in several places.
 
- Place the potato in the microwave and cook on high for 4-8 minutes, depending on its size, until tender. Rotate halfway through cooking if needed.
 
 
- Prepare the Pork Chop:
- Trim any excess fat from the pork chop.
 
- Cover the pork chop with plastic wrap and pound it out to a thin, even thickness.
 
- Season both sides of the pork chop with salt and pepper.
 
- In a shallow dish, beat the egg.
 
- Place flour in another shallow dish.
 
- Dip the pork chop in the egg, then coat it evenly with flour.
 
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
 
- Fry the pork chop until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
 
 
- Prepare the Gravy:
- In a small saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
 
- Sprinkle in 2 tablespoons of flour and cook for a minute, stirring constantly.
 
- Slowly pour in the milk, whisking continuously to prevent lumps from forming.
 
- Bring the gravy to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for a few minutes until thickened. Season with salt and pepper if needed.
 
 
- Serve:
- Arrange the bacon-infused green beans, glazed carrots, baked potato, and crispy pork chop on plates.
 
- Pour the creamy gravy over the pork chop.
 
- Serve hot and enjoy your fast, cheap, and delicious meal
