Sweet and Smoky BBQ Chicken Sliders
Ingredients:
- 3 large chicken breasts
- 1 cup hickory and brown sugar BBQ sauce
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 package (12 count) King’s Hawaiian rolls
Instructions:
- Prepare the Chicken:
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and honey. Mix well to create the marinade.
- Marinate the Chicken:
- Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
- Pour the marinade over the chicken, making sure it’s well-coated.
- Set the slow cooker to low and let it cook for 6-8 hours or until the chicken is tender and easily shreddable.
- Shred the Chicken:
- Once the chicken is cooked, use two forks to shred it directly in the slow cooker.
- Mix the shredded chicken with the remaining sauce to ensure it’s flavorful.
- Assemble the Sliders:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Slice the King’s Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping them connected.
- Place the bottom half of the rolls in a baking dish.
- Spoon the shredded BBQ chicken evenly over the rolls.
- Bake:
- Place the assembled sliders in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes or until the rolls are lightly toasted, and the chicken is heated through.
- Serve:
- Remove from the oven and place the top half of the rolls on the shredded chicken.
- Use toothpicks to secure the sliders if necessary.
