Garlic Sausage and Green Bean Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 1 ring of beef kielbasa
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1.5 pounds small golden potatoes, halved
  • 12 oz frozen green beans
  • 4 oz chicken broth
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh minced garlic to taste
  • Optional: Parsley for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preparation:
    • Slice the beef kielbasa into bite-sized rounds.
    • Dice the onion.
    • Halve the small golden potatoes.
    • Chop the fresh thyme.
  2. Layering:
    • In the crockpot, start by layering half of the diced onions at the bottom.
    • Add half of the sliced kielbasa on top of the onions.
    • Place the halved golden potatoes over the kielbasa.
    • Add the frozen green beans on top of the potatoes.
    • Sprinkle half of the chopped thyme over the layers.
    • Season the layers with salt and pepper to taste.
    • Repeat the layering process with the remaining onions, kielbasa, potatoes, and green beans.
    • Pour the chicken broth evenly over the layers.
  3. Seasoning:
    • Sprinkle the remaining chopped thyme over the top layer.
    • Add fresh minced garlic to taste.
  4. Cooking:
    • Set the crockpot to the low setting and let it cook for about 7 hours.
  5. Garnish and Serve:
    • If you have parsley, sprinkle it over the casserole before serving for added freshness and color.
    • Stir gently to combine all the ingredients.
    • Serve the garlic sausage and green bean casserole hot.
