Garlic Butter Pizza Boats

  • 8 hot dog buns
  • 8 string cheese sticks
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1-2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1/2 stick of butter
  • Pepperoni slices (or your choice of meat)
  • Pizza seasoning
  • Parmesan cheese, grated

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the Buns: Place the hot dog buns in a 9×13-inch baking dish. Cut the middle of each hot dog bun and press it down slightly to create a “boat” shape. Bake in the preheated oven for 5 minutes.
  3. Garlic Butter Sauce: While the buns are in the oven, melt the half stick of butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add 1-2 teaspoons of minced garlic to the melted butter and stir well. Set aside.
  4. Brush the Buns: Take the buns out of the oven and brush the insides with the garlic butter mixture. Make sure to coat each bun thoroughly.
  5. Build Your Pizza Boats:
    • Spread a generous amount of pizza sauce inside each bun.
    • Place pepperoni slices (or your preferred meat) inside the buns.
    • Insert a string cheese stick into each bun.
  6. Seasoning: Sprinkle pizza seasoning and grated Parmesan cheese over the top of each pizza boat.
  7. Bake: Place the prepared pizza boats back in the oven and bake at 350°F for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges of the buns are golden brown.
  8. Serve: Once out of the oven, let the pizza boats cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious and quick pizza boats!
