Dollar Tree Dinner! Sloppy Joe Casserole. Bought everything from Dollar Tree, except for the cheese which I had leftovers. Spent maybe $7. Cook ground beef, boil pasta, add cans of sloppy joe sauce to the beef, add cooked noodles to a casserole dish, mix in beef mixture, add whatever cheese you like on top, pop into a 350 degree oven until heated through and cheese is melted. Easy, quick, cheap, and makes a lot of food
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound pasta (elbow macaroni or any shape you prefer)
- 2 cans of Sloppy Joe sauce (purchased from Dollar Tree)
- Shredded cheese (whatever type you have or prefer)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
- In a large pot, bring water to a boil and cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Add a pinch of salt to the boiling water for flavor.
- While the pasta is cooking, in a separate skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Break it apart with a spoon as it cooks to achieve a crumbly texture. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Once the ground beef is cooked, add the two cans of Sloppy Joe sauce to the skillet. Stir well to combine and let it simmer for a few minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- When the pasta is ready, drain it and add it to a large casserole dish.
- Pour the Sloppy Joe and beef mixture over the cooked noodles in the casserole dish. Mix everything together until the noodles are evenly coated with the sauce.
- Sprinkle your preferred shredded cheese on top of the casserole. You can use as much or as little cheese as you like.
- Place the casserole dish in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 15-20 minutes or until the casserole is heated through, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Once done, remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
