Homemade KFC-Style Mac and Cheese
Ingredients:
- 1/2 lb (about 227g) elbow macaroni noodles
- 1 bag (about 2 cups) of your favorite cheese blend (cheddar, Monterey Jack, Colby, etc.)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream (adjust as needed for creaminess)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Cook the Noodles:
- Boil the elbow macaroni noodles according to the package instructions until al dente.
- Drain the noodles and set them aside.
- Prepare the Cheese Mixture:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the bag of cheese blend, shredded cheddar cheese, and heavy cream.
- Mix the cheeses and cream until you get a creamy and well-combined mixture. Adjust the heavy cream quantity to achieve your desired creaminess.
- Combine Noodles and Cheese Mixture:
- Add the drained noodles to the cheese mixture.
- Gently fold the noodles into the cheese mixture until they are well-coated.
- Season to Taste:
- Add salt and pepper to taste. Remember that the cheeses may already have salt, so taste before adding too much salt.
- Serve Warm:
- Heat the mac and cheese on low heat, stirring continuously until the cheese is fully melted and the mixture is heated through.
