Taco Pasta Bake Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 1/2 to 1 whole onion, diced
- 12 oz (340g) pasta (any type)
- 1 packet of taco seasoning
- 1 jar (about 16 oz) of your favorite salsa
- Cheese (cheddar or your choice), to taste
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional toppings: chopped tomatoes, sliced jalapeños, chopped cilantro
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the diced onion until translucent.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet with the onion. Cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until the beef is browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the taco seasoning and salsa into the skillet with the cooked beef. Let it simmer for a few minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the meat mixture. Stir until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a 9×13-inch (23x33cm) casserole dish.
- Sprinkle a generous amount of cheese over the top of the pasta mixture.
- Place the casserole dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve hot, garnished with optional toppings such as chopped tomatoes, sliced jalapeños, or chopped cilantro.
