Meatball Sub Casserole
Ingredients:
72 meatballs (from your batch cooking)
1 loaf of Italian bread, sliced
2 cups marinara sauce
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil or parsley (for garnish)
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Arrange the sliced Italian bread in a single layer at the bottom of a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
Spread half of the marinara sauce over the bread slices.
Place half of the meatballs on top of the sauce.
Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese and half of the Parmesan cheese over the meatballs.
Repeat the layers: bread, marinara sauce, meatballs, and cheeses.
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until the cheese is golden brown.
Once done, sprinkle chopped basil or parsley over the casserole for garnish.
Serve hot, slicing into portions and enjoying the savory flavors of your homemade meatball sub casserole!
