Creamy Crockpot Chicken Delight
Ingredients:
- 3-4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 3 cans of Cream of Chicken soup
- 2 cups of water
- 1 packet of chicken gravy mix
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1 cup frozen peas (optional)
- Cooked rice or egg noodles for serving
Instructions:
- Prepare the Crockpot: Place the uncooked chicken breasts in the crockpot.
- Create the Gravy Mixture: In a bowl, combine the Cream of Chicken soup with 2 cups of water. Whisk until smooth. Add the chicken gravy mix and continue to whisk until well combined.
- Season the Chicken: Sprinkle the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and parsley.
- Pour in the Gravy: Pour the creamy mixture over the chicken in the crockpot, making sure the chicken is well-coated.
- Cook on Low: Set the crockpot to low and cook for 2 1/2 hours. If desired, add frozen peas during the last 30 minutes of cooking for a burst of color and added veggies.
- Shred or Dice the Chicken: Carefully remove the cooked chicken from the crockpot. Using two forks, shred the chicken or dice it into bite-sized pieces.
- Combine Chicken and Gravy: Put the shredded or diced chicken back into the crockpot with the creamy gravy. Stir well to ensure the chicken is evenly coated.
- Serve: Spoon the creamy chicken mixture over cooked rice or egg noodles.
- Garnish (Optional): Garnish with additional dried parsley or freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and freshness.
