So here is an simple recipe for hamburger. I got it from my first MIL. Brown hamburger with chopped onion and chopped bell pepper (drain excess grease). In another pot, cook a package of egg noodles, then drain and keep in the pot. To the noodles add 1 can of cream of chicken, 1 can of cream of mushroom, 1 soup can of water, and 1 can of cream style corn plus the browned hamburger and s/p. Put into a 9×13 pan that been sprayed with pam. Bake covered for 40-45 mins at 350. Remove foil and put cheese on top, then back in the oven until the cheese is melted

Creamy Hamburger Casserole with Egg Noodles

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can (14.75 oz) cream-style corn
  • 1 soup can of water (use the empty cream of chicken or mushroom soup can for measuring)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite melting cheese)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with cooking spray.
  2. Prepare the Ground Beef Mixture:
    • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat until it’s no longer pink, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks.
    • Add the chopped onion and bell pepper to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are soft and the excess grease has been drained. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.
  3. Cook the Egg Noodles:
    • Cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and return the noodles to the pot.
  4. Prepare the Creamy Sauce:
    • In a medium bowl, mix together the cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, cream-style corn, and water. Blend until well combined.
  5. Combine and Bake:
    • Add the creamy soup mixture to the pot with the drained noodles. Mix in the browned hamburger mixture. Stir well to combine all the ingredients thoroughly.
  6. Transfer to Baking Dish:
    • Pour the mixture into the prepared 9×13-inch baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  7. Bake Covered:
    • Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the casserole to cook through.
  8. Add Cheese and Bake Again:
    • Remove the foil and sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the casserole.
    • Return the dish to the oven and bake uncovered for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
