Easy Orange Chicken Recipe


  • 2 chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 jar (about 1/2 cup) orange marmalade
  • 1/2 bottle (about 1 cup) Sweet Baby Ray’s Original BBQ Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Cooked white rice, for serving
  • Steamed broccoli, for serving


  1. Prepare the Chicken:
    • In a ziplock bag, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, and pepper.
    • Add the chicken pieces to the bag and shake until well coated.
  2. Cook the Chicken:
    • Option 1: Air Fryer Method:
      • Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (190°C).
      • Place the coated chicken pieces in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
      • Air fry for 16 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.
    • Option 2: Stovetop Frying Method:
      • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
      • Once the oil is hot, carefully add the coated chicken pieces to the skillet.
      • Fry the chicken for about 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through.
      • Transfer the cooked chicken to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  3. Make the Orange Sauce:
    • In a pot, combine the orange marmalade, Sweet Baby Ray’s Original BBQ Sauce, and low-sodium soy sauce.
    • Stir well to combine.
    • Heat the sauce over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it comes to a simmer.
  4. Combine Chicken and Sauce:
    • Once the sauce is simmering, add the cooked chicken pieces to the pot.
    • Toss the chicken in the sauce until evenly coated.
    • Let the chicken simmer in the sauce for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  5. Serve:
