Garlic Sausage and Green Bean Casserole
Ingredients:
- 1 ring of beef kielbasa
- 1 onion, diced
- 1.5 pounds small golden potatoes, halved
- 12 oz frozen green beans
- 4 oz chicken broth
- 1 tsp fresh thyme, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh minced garlic to taste
- Optional: Parsley for garnish
Instructions:
- Preparation:
- Slice the beef kielbasa into bite-sized rounds.
- Dice the onion.
- Halve the small golden potatoes.
- Chop the fresh thyme.
- Layering:
- In the crockpot, start by layering half of the diced onions at the bottom.
- Add half of the sliced kielbasa on top of the onions.
- Place the halved golden potatoes over the kielbasa.
- Add the frozen green beans on top of the potatoes.
- Sprinkle half of the chopped thyme over the layers.
- Season the layers with salt and pepper to taste.
- Repeat the layering process with the remaining onions, kielbasa, potatoes, and green beans.
- Pour the chicken broth evenly over the layers.
- Seasoning:
- Sprinkle the remaining chopped thyme over the top layer.
- Add fresh minced garlic to taste.
- Cooking:
- Set the crockpot to the low setting and let it cook for about 7 hours.
- Garnish and Serve:
- If you have parsley, sprinkle it over the casserole before serving for added freshness and color.
- Stir gently to combine all the ingredients.
- Serve the garlic sausage and green bean casserole hot.
