It’s a cold day in Texas. So we needed something warm, filling and in less than 30 minutes
Brown 1 lb of ground beef with 1 chopped onion.
Season with salt, pepper, onion powder, minced garlic, paprika, Italian seasoning, worcestershire sauce.
Add in 2 cups of uncooked macaroni noodles and a cup and a half of beef broth.
2 small cans of tomato sauce
1 can of chopped tomatoes
Stir, cover for 15 minutes. Top with cheese of choice( I had mozzarella) And done!
Texan-inspired Beefy Macaroni Skillet, perfect for a cold day and ready in less than 30 minutes:
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cups uncooked macaroni noodles
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth
- 2 small cans (8 oz each) of tomato sauce
- 1 can (14.5 oz) chopped tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or cheese of choice)
Instructions:
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until cooked through, breaking it up into crumbles as it cooks.
- Add the chopped onion to the skillet with the ground beef and cook until the onion is softened.
- Season the beef and onion mixture with salt, pepper, onion powder, minced garlic, paprika, Italian seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well to combine.
- Add the uncooked macaroni noodles to the skillet, followed by the beef broth, tomato sauce, and chopped tomatoes. Stir everything together until well combined.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer, then cover the skillet and let it cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the macaroni is cooked through and tender.
- Once the macaroni is cooked, sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the top of the skillet.
- Cover the skillet again and let it sit for a few minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove the skillet from the heat and serve the Beefy Macaroni Skillet hot, garnished with additional herbs or cheese if desired.
