Homemade Frozen Breakfast Sandwiches
Ingredients:
- 12 large eggs
- 12 pork sausage patties
- 12 slices of cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or your preferred type)
- 12 English muffins
- Olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). If you have a convection oven, preheat it to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the Molds: Lightly coat a muffin tin with olive oil to prevent sticking. Crack one egg into each muffin mold. If you prefer, you can use silicone muffin molds for easy removal.
- Bake the Eggs: Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake the eggs for about 17 minutes. If you prefer a runny yolk, reduce the baking time accordingly. Keep an eye on them to achieve your desired level of doneness.
- Cook the Sausage Patties: While the eggs are baking, cook the pork sausage patties according to the package instructions. You can use a skillet or bake them in the oven.
- Assemble the Sandwiches: Once the eggs are done, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool slightly. Meanwhile, split the English muffins and lightly toast them.
- Layer the Ingredients: On the bottom half of each English muffin, place a cooked sausage patty followed by a slice of cheese. Then, carefully place a baked egg on top of the cheese.
- Complete the Sandwiches: Top each sandwich with the other half of the English muffin.
- Wrap and Freeze: Allow the sandwiches to cool completely before wrapping them individually in plastic wrap or aluminum foil. Place the wrapped sandwiches in a freezer-safe bag or container.
- Reheat and Enjoy: When ready to enjoy, simply unwrap the desired number of sandwiches and microwave them for 1-2 minutes until heated through. Alternatively, you can thaw them overnight in the refrigerator and heat them in a toaster oven for a crispy texture.
- Serve: Serve your homemade frozen breakfast sandwiches hot and enjoy a delicious, budget-friendly breakfast any day of the week!
