Creamy Shrimp Alfredo Pasta with Texas Toast

Ingredients:

  • 2 packs of frozen shrimp (approx. 1 lb)
  • 2 cans (14.5 oz each) of Prego Alfredo sauce
  • 1 box (16 oz) of thin spaghetti
  • 1 box of Texas toast
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • Optional: grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Texas Toast:
    • Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the Texas toast package.
    • Arrange the slices of Texas toast on a baking sheet and bake them until golden brown and crispy.
  2. Cook Thin Spaghetti:
    • In a large pot, bring water to a boil.
    • Add a teaspoon of salt to the boiling water.
    • Add the thin spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to the package instructions until al dente.
    • Once cooked, drain the spaghetti and set aside.
  3. Prepare Creamy Alfredo Sauce:
    • In a large skillet or saucepan, melt the tablespoon of butter over medium heat.
    • Add minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
    • Pour in the cans of Prego Alfredo sauce and stir well to combine.
    • Allow the sauce to simmer gently while you prepare the shrimp.
  4. Cook Shrimp:
    • Thaw the frozen shrimp according to the package instructions.
    • Once thawed, drain any excess moisture from the shrimp.
    • Add the shrimp to the simmering Alfredo sauce.
    • Cook the shrimp in the sauce for 4-5 minutes, or until they are pink and opaque, stirring occasionally.
  5. Combine Sauce and Pasta:
    • Once the shrimp are fully cooked, add the cooked thin spaghetti to the skillet with the creamy Alfredo sauce and shrimp.
    • Gently toss everything together until the pasta is evenly coated with the sauce and the shrimp are distributed throughout.
  6. Serve:
    • Serve the creamy shrimp Alfredo pasta hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley if desired.
    • Accompany each serving with a slice of crispy Texas toast.
