Mcdonalds Breakfast Burrito Copycat from Tiktok.
Girlfriend saw on tiktok.
Sausage
Eggs (I use 7)
Half can of Rotel.
Shredded cheese to taste (tiktok said shredding your own freezes better)
Tortillas
The 1lb roll of sausage and 7 eggs made about 12 or 13 burritos but that will be based on which size you get. We freeze them and microwave them for a minute or two then you can even air fry to make crispy.
We added hashbrowns. I am making a batch now without the Rotel and adding sausage gravy
Copycat McDonald’s Breakfast Burrito with a Twist
Ingredients:
- 1 lb roll of sausage
- 7 large eggs
- Half can of Rotel (diced tomatoes and green chilies)
- Shredded cheese to taste (preferably freshly shredded for better freezing)
- Flour tortillas
- Frozen hashbrowns (optional)
- Sausage gravy (optional)
Instructions:
- Cook the Sausage:
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked. Break it into crumbles as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
- Scramble the Eggs:
- In a large bowl, beat the eggs and scramble them in the same skillet used for the sausage. Cook until just set but still moist.
- Add Rotel:
- Stir in half a can of Rotel (diced tomatoes and green chilies) into the scrambled eggs. This will add a flavorful kick to your burritos.
- Assemble the Burritos:
- Lay out the flour tortillas and spoon a portion of the sausage and egg mixture onto each one. Add a sprinkle of shredded cheese to taste.
- Optional: Add Hashbrowns:
- If desired, add a layer of frozen hashbrowns to each burrito. This will add a delightful crunch and extra heartiness.
- Roll and Wrap:
- Fold the sides of the tortillas in and then roll them up tightly, creating a burrito shape. Repeat until all the filling is used.
- Freeze for Later:
- If you’re making a large batch, allow the burritos to cool completely before wrapping them individually in plastic wrap or aluminum foil. Place them in a freezer-safe bag and store for future use.
- Reheating:
- To reheat, remove the plastic wrap or foil and place the burrito on a microwave-safe plate. Microwave for 1-2 minutes until heated through. For a crispier texture, you can also air fry them for a few minutes.
- Optional: Sausage Gravy:
- If you’re making a batch without Rotel, consider serving the burritos with a side of sausage gravy for dipping or drizzling.
- Enjoy:
- Serve your delicious homemade McDonald’s-style breakfast burritos with or without sausage gravy, and savor the flavorful combination of sausage, eggs, cheese, and Rotel.
Now you can enjoy a tasty and satisfying breakfast, whether it’s freshly made or conveniently pulled from the freezer
To ensure your Copycat McDonald’s Breakfast Burrito with a Twist turns out delicious and with a unique touch, here are some tips:
- Fresh Ingredients:
- Use fresh and high-quality ingredients for the best flavor. This includes fresh eggs, good-quality sausage, and recently purchased tortillas.
- Sausage Variety:
- Experiment with different sausage varieties to find your favorite. You could try spicy sausage for an extra kick or a maple-flavored one for sweetness.
- Rotel Adjustments:
- Adjust the amount of Rotel to your taste preference. If you like it spicier, add more, or if you prefer a milder flavor, use less.
- Cheese Shredding:
- Shred your own cheese for better melting and freezing properties. It may require a bit more effort, but the result is a creamier texture when melted.
- Hashbrown Crispiness:
- If adding hashbrowns, cook them according to package instructions before incorporating them into the burrito. This ensures they maintain their crispy texture when reheating.
- Tortilla Warm-up:
- Warm the tortillas slightly before assembling the burritos. This makes them more pliable and prevents cracking when rolling.
- Even Filling Distribution:
- Distribute the filling evenly across the tortilla to ensure every bite has a mix of sausage, eggs, cheese, and Rotel.
- Proper Rolling Technique:
- Roll the burritos tightly to prevent them from falling apart during cooking or reheating. Folding the sides in before rolling helps create a neater and more secure package.
- Cool Before Freezing:
- Allow the assembled burritos to cool completely before freezing. This prevents condensation inside the wrapping, which can lead to ice crystals and affect the texture of the burrito.
- Label and Date:
- When freezing a batch, label each burrito with the date and contents. This makes it easier to keep track and ensures you consume them within a reasonable time frame.
- Sausage Gravy on the Side:
- If serving with sausage gravy, consider keeping it on the side for dipping or drizzling just before consumption. This maintains the crispiness of the burrito until you’re ready to enjoy it.
- Experiment and Personalize:
- Feel free to experiment with additional ingredients like sautéed vegetables, hot sauce, or different types of cheese to tailor the burritos to your taste preferences.
