Baked ham and cheese sandwiches!
I used leftover ham (like a baked ham), Swiss cheese slices, and regular cheap white buns. Assemble sandwiches.
Make sauce: melt 1 stick of butter, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 2 tsp worcestershire sauce, 2 Tbsp Dijon mustard, 1 tbsp poppy seeds in a saucepan until hot/bubbly. Pour over sandwiches.
Cover and Refrigerate sandwiches for at least 30 minutes, then bake at 350 for 30 minutes, covered.
I normally make these with sliced deli ham and on Hawaiian rolls, but that can get expensive. So doing it this way was a pretty cheap alternative and used up my leftover ham! I made 6 sandwiches, but the sauce would cover at least 8 regular buns.
The sauce is amazing, and if you already have the ingredients on hand, it’s pretty cheap.
Just thought I would share!
